About the Author
David O. Scheiding
Born in November of 1942, Mr. Scheiding was raised in a small town in central Iowa by religious parents who instilled a strong belief in God. His dedication to his career was evident from an early age.
Upon graduating high school, he earned a degree in aerospace engineering from Iowa State University, where he met his wife. Given his attendance at a state university, he was required to participate in the Reserve Officer Training Corp (ROTC) program and selected the Air Force ROTC. After completing the mandatory first two years, he decided that if he could pass the pilot physical he would complete the final two years of advanced ROTC. Subsequently, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Air Force.
After completing undergraduate pilot training, he became an instructor pilot before volunteering to deploy to Vietnam. As a Captain, he was selected to be the operations officer of the largest combat squadron in Vietnam during the Spring Offensive of 1972. Over the years, he gained valuable expertise in the military as a finance director, system program manager, and structural engineer at Kelly Air Base.
About the book
The Long Return
Should the Military Be Used as a Political Tool?
The Long Return shows us his experiences as an Air Force pilot and his efforts to understand the change in the American attitude by looking at history and how and why the use of the military developed into a political tool by use by politicians. This is the only way he has been able to adjust and accept the change and to finally be at peace with himself, completing his “long return” from Vietnam.
About the book
Don't Fly Today
When God Speaks- Listen!
Warning to Atheists- God does exist!
Does God really exist? If he does, why does he let bad things happen to good people? Is the Bible fiction or nonfiction? After a twenty-five-year military career and eighteen years of running his own businesses, the author became concerned about what he observed happening to the American society and the direction that the country appears to be heading.
Don’t Fly Today provides the author’s perspective while answering the above questions and concerns. The author does this by analyzing the path of his life and has compiled very compelling empirical evidence that his life had to have been guided by a higher power.
